Arts Fest Friday Premiers its 2017 Season with Gotta Dance! at the National Museum of Dance

Arts Fest Friday is pleased to present Gotta Dance! on March 31, from 6 to 8 pm, at the beautiful National Museum of Dance. We’ll use nearly every inch of this amazing space to highlight leading dance troupes performing everything from ballet, tap, and swing, to classical Indian dance, Irish step dancing, and belly dancing. You’ll want to catch the screening of a classic dance film, a special Shirley Temple Craft Station and snack area for kids, and performances by the fabulous Joey Thomas Little Big Band performing the best-loved hits of Swing. (Dance shoes, dapper apparel, and tutus and tiaras are optional but always encouraged).

Some of our dance performances include:

  • Skidmore Dance Department’s Mary DiSanto-Rose and her students channel the great “Mother of Modern Dance” Isadora Duncan
  • Skidmore Dance Ensemble’s, Jason Ohlberg, performs New Work
  • School of the Arts performs a Baseball Ballet and variations from Paquita
  • NACRE performs, Don’t Let Them Tame You from choreographer Allison Bohman
  • Elaina performs Classic American and modern Egyptian cabaret styles of belly dance
  • Saratoga City Ballet performs variations from Raymonda
  • Spa City Swingers perform Swing
  • Tango Fusion performs their signature synthesis of Tango and Salsa
