Collaborating in the areas of programming, exhibits, financial and logistical support, and marketing and outreach efforts, SaratogaArtsFest and Partner organizations enrich the arts landscape and encourage increased cultural tourism in our region.

2014 Partner Grant Winners

Each year, proceeds from SaratogaArtsFest's opening celebration, Prelude, and a portion of funds received from donors are awarded to partners to help bring programming to SaratogaArtsFest. For 2014, nine partner organizations from the SaratogaArtsFest alliance of art organizations received programming grants for a vibrant array of diverse programming:

  • Albany Symphony Orchestra - Cowboy Dave - Maestro David Allan Miller Around the World
    Take a trip with Cowboy Dave and the Albany Symphony all over the world, from England to Spain, Hungary to New York! Cowboy Dave needs help saving the world’s music from the miserable music miser by dancing, marching, flying and singing the music of Strauss, Copland, Sousa, Brahms, Handel, Bizet and others.
  • Children's Museum of Saratoga - The Art of Words through Storytelling
    Karen Pillsworth, a local storytelling artist, will be painting pictures through words by injecting her own personality into well known tales. Young audiences can hear a story and make their own prop that will encourage them to continue the tradition and art of storytelling!
  • Empire State Youth Orchestra - Life of a Jazz Man
    ESYO Repertory Jazz Ensemble with Guest Soloist Jazz Trombonist Michael Davis. Davis, a New York City artist will perform with ESYO’s Repertory Jazz Ensemble, directed by Matt Cremisio. Davis will perform with an original commissioned piece written specifically for SaratogaArtsFest.
  • Home Made Theater - Theatrical Therapy A cabaret performance
    What happened to some of your favorite musical theater characters after the show closed? Ever wonder if Eliza Doolittle lived happily ever after? Did Peter Pan ever grow up? Sit in on a therapy session with these characters and more to see how their lives turned out. This original performance will be filled with laughter and song.
  • Hubbard Hall Projects - Serenata Italiana: Exploring the music of Italy
    Hubbard Hall Oprera Theater presents a concert featuring the music of Verdi and Leoncavallo, to popular songs by Tosti, Donaudy and others. This concert explores the music of Italy in the 18th and 19th centuries and features the talents of four outstanding opera performers.
  • Opera Saratoga - Roscoe New Opera Workshop
    A workshop performance of the new opera Roscoe by composer and Skidmore College faculty member Evan Mack, based on the novel by Pulitzer-prize winning author William Kennedy and featuring Opera Saratoga’s 2014 Young Artists.
  • Saratoga Film Forum - Films on Artists/Artists on Film
    This program honors the 2014 ArtsFest theme, It’s an Artist’s Life!, with three films and speakers that take the lives of artists as a starting point for an exploration of the artistic process and the fiercely talented individuals who embrace it.
  • Saratoga Shakespeare Company - Shakespeare - The Remix
    The Remix performed by two actors, is a uniquely hip, dynamic, educational way to introduce Shakespeare to young audiences. Includes monologues and scenes from Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Merchant of Venice. The Remix is an unparalleled way to experience Shakespeare.
  • Saratoga Youth Orchestra - Neapolitan Revival Concert
    A Master Class and Concert in an extraordinary collaboration with the internationally recognized Neapolitan Music Society (NMS) featuring a world premier concert of works from the Neapolitan archives.
